The Skipper is the primary adult leader in charge of a Sea Scout Ship. The Skipper's duties include giving direction to the ship program while advising and coaching the youth officers as they plan, organize, and conduct the meetings and activities of the ship.

The ship's Committee Chair is responible for selecting and recruiting other adult leaders, completing the annual charter renewal, and ensuring that the ship operates in accordance with the policies and standards of both the chartered organization and the Boy Scouts of America.

The Boatswain is the primary youth leader in charge of the ship. The duties of the Boatswain include leading all ship meetings and activities, planning and conducting regular quarterdeck meetings, delegating responsibilities to other youth officers, and directing the development of the ship’s operational plan.

The Boatswain's Mate for Administration is the youth officer reponsible for recruiting new members into the ship. Duties of the Boatswain's Mate for Administraion include planning ship recruiting activities, providing support and encouragement for new ship members, and following up with inactive members. The Boatswain's Mate for Administration is also responsible for taking over for the ship's Boatswain when necessary.
The Boatswain's Mate for Program is the youth leader in charge of coordinating and planning ship outings. The duties of the Boatswain's Mate for Program consist of collecting activity and meeting ideas from ship members, evaluating ship meetings and activities after they take place, maintaining a detailed record of previous activities, and assisting the ship's activity chairs in planning and conducting successful activities.
The Storekeeper is the youth officer in charge of managing Ship equipment. Duties of the Storekeeper include obtaining and recording all new and current Ship equipment while ensuring that all necessary equipment is present and in good working condition.
The Purser is the youth leader in charge of tracking the income and expenses of the ship with guidance from the adult committee treasurer. Duties of the Purser consist of setting a yearly budget with the help of the Quarterdeck and Skipper, making regular treasury reports at Quarterdeck meetings, and obtaining approval from ship officers and the Skipper for expenditures.
The Yeoman is the youth leader in charge of keeping minutes of quarterdeck and ship meetings. Duties of the Yeoman include keeping membership records for the ship, supervising the ship's correspondence, and keeping all ship members informed about upcoming meetings, activities, and projects.
The Media Specialist is the youth officer who is responible for Ship publicity and advertising. The duties of the Media Specialist include building and maintaining the Ship's website and any other digital or physical media pertaining to the Ship and its activities.
